How does the Program work?
-
After you’ve completed the onboarding steps (see above How do I get started?), you’ll be placed on a 22-week customized weight loss program. You’ll use the Sensable Health iPhone app to log nutrition, activity, sleep and stress information and track your progress against your program goals. The app will display your sleep and activity data made available through your Fitbit devices. Food logging in the app, powered by Nutritionix, helps you track what you eat and make healthful food choices. We’ll monitor your stress with a daily check-in survey. You’ll interact with the app through daily logging, quizzes and surveys, personalized messages with goals, reminders, motivational texts, and helpful suggestions. The app will send specialized content, including educational videos and articles, motivational messages and helpful suggestions to guide you through the program and help you understand the four domains and how they relate to changing your set point and your health.
For a high-touch experience, you will have a personal coach who will guide you through the 26-week program, answering questions, giving you support and guidance as you make your way down the transformative path. There will be 3 phone calls, one as part of your onboarding process, one after the first two-week baseline period, then another around the 3-month mark, after your second set of lab tests. Additional coaching can be purchased, as you would like.
How does lab testing work?
-
As part of the initial baseline determination, we will gather information about your hormonal balance from a set of lab results: insulin resistance (sugar metabolism), lipids (cholesterol), leptin (hunger regulation), HbA1c (blood sugar), hs-CRP (inflammation), and cortisol (stress). Cortisol will be measured with saliva and the others with a blood draw at a convenient local lab. You will receive a kit in the mail with instructions, sample tubes, an address of the lab that will take the blood sample and an order form to take with you to the lab. We will determine several of your metabolic levels and guide you along a unique path towards adjusting your set point to help you lose weight and keep it off. We’ll use your lab results, along with your intake questionnaire and the data from your two-week baseline data collection period to craft a personalized weight loss program just for you.
At approximately 15 weeks after the program starts, Sensable Health will send you a new lab collection kit. We ask that you follow the same lab testing procedures as you did in the initial lab testing. The purpose of this testing is determine how your metabolism and hormones have changed from all you have done up to that point. Your coach will set up a call with you to go over the results and, if needed, suggest modifications to your plan for the rest of the program.
How do I get started?
-
Our Program is designed around the scientifically proven concept of “set point,” a metabolism regulator that we all have and keep our weight steady. Sensable Health begins with a baseline questionnaire, lab testing and setting up your Fitbit watch and scale. Then, you will begin a 2-week baseline period, to see how you function on a daily basis in the four Domains of Nutrition, Activity, Sleep, and Stress. This information will be used to develop a personalized weight loss approach over the next 22 weeks. Each participant will start with one Domain (say Nutrition) for 5 weeks, then add another Domain (say Activity) for another 4 or 5 weeks, until you are engaged in all 4 Domains. Staying on track with the program will allow you to attain long-term, sensable results. Watch this video for more information.

-
Your Personal Health Information is only shared with your coaches and the Sensable Health team. This information is used to create your individualized Plan and to follow your progress.
We may use de-identified information gathered from the Sensable Health program to perform statistical analysis of various aspects of the program, to analyze and evaluate issues relating to nutrition, activity, stress and sleep, as well as participant activity in the program, in order to improve the Sensable Health program.

Can you send my results to my doctor?

How will I receive my lab results?
-
Your lab results will be mailed to you from Sensable Health. The results should arrive in the mail in 7 to 10 days after the blood draw and will include the results of both cortisol (saliva) tests that you take with you to the lab on the same day as the draw and the blood tests. If, after you get these results, you have any questions or if there are any flagged results, contact your personal physician. Remember, Sensable Health is a wellness program and does not provide any healthcare advice, interpretation, recommendations or services.
